There is no ad on Shige’s Kitchen because I am not allowed to and don’t want to place ads on my website. Since I am a Ph.D. student in the United States with a student visa, I am not allowed to work off-campus. Even earning money by running ads on a blog is considered off-campus work. Also, I don’t want to place ads on my website because I want readers to focus on the main text and want to write independent articles. That is why I decided to ask readers for donations.

If you enjoy Shige’s Kitchen and wish to support it, please donate any amount that you think this website deserves. I will use the donations to give back to the website by purchasing cooking tools, food materials, and books and traveling to Japan.
